There is 1 alternative possibility that has not yet been broached, to my knowledge, that this operation like others in the past was designed to fail, and that Mr. McDonald was, wittingly or otherwise simply fulfilling his role in making sure that if any other witnesses are brave enough to come forward, nobody will dare to say that they are credible, as that will simply lead others to assume that they are as "credible" as Nick.

On a more whimsical note, if the writer of this article is American, referring as he/she does to the America-speaking world, this could be the 1st time that I have seen in print the acknowledgement that the majority of so-called English-speaking peoples actually do not speak what is generally accepted as English, but rather the strange variant, known as American, or Yank.

If the writer is English, is this then a plea for us to recognise that the English-speaking world does not actually speak what we like to think of as our language, but rather a hybrid made up of quotes from various Hollywood films, gangsta rap lyrics, together a succession of words for which there are perfectly good English originals, which have acquired a different meaning on the other side of the Atlantic, or else have fallen into disuse completely on the far side of "The Pond.".

Never has the phrase "Divided by a common language" been more appropriate!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
