"BBC-Guardian witch-hunt".

For those of you with strong stomachs, you might want to take a listen to the leaked parts of Rebekah Brooks's meeting with NotW journalists today. At various points she talks of how the BBC have led bulletin after bulletin on the phone-hacking scandal, how there's been a "BBC-Guardian witch-hunt" and also at interminable length tries and fails to outline how the hacking happened in the first place, although naturally she didn't know anything about it. In short, it's everyone else's fault, and shutting the paper certainly wasn't to save her and Murdoch junior's jobs.

As the Manics had it:

"Who's responsible? You fucking are."
